The word glob is often used to describe thick paint applied to canvas. I am interested in the “painterly” aesthetic inherent in my photographic work, I thought it apt to explore this further.
The materials that make up this investigation are contrasting in terms of their photogenic qualities. The slick seductive surface of glass is contrasted with the powdery, chalk like surface of clay. In the images, these material contrasts are unified by their shared formal elements, colour palette and shape..
